She served as a university administrator for many years and recently served as the Chief of Staff of Tuskegee University. Prior to joining Tuskegee University she served in administrative leadership positions as Director of Library, Archives, Media Center, & Coordinator of Distance Learning and faculty positions at the University of Florida, Savannah State University and Tuskegee University. She also served as an executive at Sunrise International, Inc.
She attended University of Dhaka, University of Florida, Atlanta University and Harvard University and received her MLIS, undergraduate, and educational and leadership training. She was one of the pioneers in developing Georgia’s statewide premier and nationally recognized digital library, Georgia Library Learning Online (GALILEO).
Currently, she is serving as a founding member of “One Humanity Institute” an international project to promote world peace. She was the chief coordinator of the Opportunity Funding Corporation’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship conference. This nationally renowned higher education event has served as a catalyst to spur entrepreneurship programs at HBCU across America. Drawing on Amin’s management prowess, OFC Innovation and Entrepreneurship has grown consistently year-to-year and has emerged as a nexus of activity and networking for university presidents, faculty members, business leaders, and students alike. Shamima served on numerous national committees and non-profit boards as members and chairs, which includes America’s Second Harvest Food Bank of Coastal Georgia, Better Business Bureau, etc. She can read, write and speak in Bengali, French and German. She traveled extensively in 49 countries in five different continents. She has been included in Who’s Who in America (Millennium edition), Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, and International Who’s Who of Professional Management.
