Diane De Terra

Aware of global trends of peace and violence, she illustrates the visible and invisible culture of peoples whose visible culture is gone but whose invisible culture is not gone.

Fulbright scholar, East West Center fellow, Middlebury Monterey Institute dean, her international development management firm has worked in some 60 countries. A medical qigong therapist, she thrives on a daily practice of taiji. From this unique perspective, Diane relates art to everyday life to reveal cultural DNA.

Her current project, Scrolls of Culture, is a time capsule of Chinese culture that survives when the Malaysian Chinese village where she lived for years was razed. It provides you with a model for exploring cultural DNA that transcends time and space as we explore One Humanity Institute. Diane believes that awareness and investigation of cultural DNA helps us to perform the alchemy of transforming violence to peace.
