ONE HUMANITY INSTITUTE OVERALL VISION STATEMENT

“Many Voices, One Heart, One Humanity . . . One Peace.”

“The overarching goal, through these efforts and with this articulated vision, is to build a foundation for the evolution of consciousness
needed to give rise to the global solidarity of One Humanity to achieve sustainable peace.”
— Nina Meyerhof

With the support of an international team of leaders, practitioners, and visionaries, the Humanity Institute will be a collaborative enterprise developed to attract, educate, and inspire people of all ages and cultures to translate universal values into global actions that generate global harmony and prosperity. The Institute will cultivate a vision of one humanity joining together to embrace our deep spiritual connection and manifest it in tangible ways at the micro and macro levels of individuals, organizations, societies and the world.

The Institute emerges from the well-documented urgent need to redirect focus away from the violence of the past and toward a culture of peace with forgiveness and trust. Auschwitz has been a vortex of depressive energy due to the horrors committed there. Yet in large part because of Auschwitz, the United Nations was formed; because of Auschwitz the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted; because of Auschwitz the town of Oświęcim was named the City of Peace – anticipating a hopeful vision. The Institute will take up that vision and in so doing transform the depressive response to Auschwitz’s history, by reversing its polarity and transforming it into compassionate consciousness of the reality of the radical interconnectedness of all peoples. Thus, Auschwitz is the most auspicious location to realize a new vision for humanity that honors those who perished while inspiring rising generations to reach for an alternative future that resolves obstacles to global harmony.

To further that end, the Institute will foster a deep structural shift in the basic premises of thoughts, feelings and actions, directing them away from modes of disaffection and estrangement, which can lead to discord and violence – away from a culture of competition and domination to one of partnership and solidarity.

The Institute will embrace a vision of peace, which goes beyond the mere absence of conflict and war, to bring about a change of heart that embraces our common humanity. Thus, peace in this sense is a dynamic concept that allows the possibility to fully develop human beings’ potential in harmony with self and others, respecting the right of living with dignity and cultural understanding. This peace implies learning practices of solidarity, justice and cooperation in our own communities, linking them with active participation in the interconnected world in which we are embedded. The aim is to experience unitive synergy: oneness of the authentic self, co-aligned with the unity of all selves as a coherent whole. Sustainable PEACE is possible with the consciousness of ONE HUMANITY.

To further this vision, the Institute will aim to translate, in formal and non-formal environments, the values of understanding, freedom, equal dignity, justice, equity, harmony, compassion and forgiveness into knowledge, skills, actions, and projects for communities across the world. The overarching goal, through these efforts and with this articulated vision, is to build a foundation for the evolution of consciousness needed to give rise to the global solidarity of One Humanity to achieve sustainable peace.
